Special abilities of a leprechaun

When a treasure hunter finds a leprechaun, the leprechaun must give them 3 wishes.  They can only get the 3 wishes if the leprechaun doesn't use his power of hypnotism and trickery to escape the treasure hunter.  This can only happen if the treasure hunter takes his eyes off of the leprechaun.  Leprechauns have a special ability to vanish very quickly.

    I think I've heard that they can grant 3 wishes but I didn't know that they HAD to grant 3 wishes
